Cereal Box Puppets

First the fourth grade students made puppets from cereal boxes. Then they wrote a play with the puppets playing the leading roles. Finally they presented the puppet shows to the lower elementary. The subject was "How Can We Solve Differences Peacefully".

^ Our play was about sharing sleds. Our puppets' names were Chris, John, Michelle, and Zach. We had fun doing our play. We made our own puppets and sleds. We were fighting over sleds. We solved the problem by taking turns and sharing the sleds. Our group thought it was fun teaching the kids how to get along It was great to be able to help the little kids. ...Colin, Tara, Kayla, and Chris

^ Our story was about friends and ice cream. It was about two friends fighting over a chocolate ice cream. Finally one of the kids said, "Strawberry is ok, I guess, but can I have chocolate next time? The other puppet said, "Ok!" We performed to the first grade and kindergarten. It felt good to help the little kids to play nicely. ...Katie, Tyler, Ryan and Andrea.

^ It was fun making the puppets, writing the scripts, spending time with Ms Chris and hearing the little kids clapping for us. We are going to perform in Arcadia too. Our puppet show was about puppets calling each other names. We made an agreement not to call each other names and to play nice. It feels good to be a role model for the younger kids. ...Jeremy, Joel, Mandi, Nichole.

^ Our puppet show problem was about a clubhouse that has no boys allowed. Our solution was to all work together because the job would get done a lot faster. We had a lot of fun and at the same time taught first grade and kindergarten how to get along. ...Dustin, Kris, Danielle, Kelsey
