Everyone in First Grade Loves to read. We read at our desks. We read at home. We read on the bus. We read on the floor. We even get to sit and read on Miss K.'s fancy chair.

It is very exciting to take an Accelerated Reading Test on the computer. Miss K. helps us do well. She is very proud of our reading.

Sweeping out the old year

< Ricky S. listens carefully as George G. reads a story to him during National Kindness Week. It is great to be able to share our new found reading skill.
Olivia B. reads a book to Jordan Z. James A. is eavesdropping in the background. He seems to be enjoying the story as much as Jordan. >

< From left to right --Sam G. and Chelsea M. enjoy reading books to one another.

^ Above, Gus L, Nichole B, and Ricky S. make themselves comfortable on Miss K's class couch.

...As former first lady Rosalynn Carter says in the foreword to Kids' Random Acts of Kindness, "Simple acts of kindness are natural to children...But it is a quality that is fagile and easily crushed if not respected, nurtured and appreciated."

^ Josh M. and Kailani B. enjoy a story read to them by Donny O.
