Our Interactive Visit with NASA took place in the distant learning room. Before visiting NASA we spent an hour browsing their web site. It gave us plenty of ideas and questions.

Our Visit With NASA

Last Friday we had a connection with NASA in the distant learning room. I had to take pictures of the screen. It was sort of hard because I had to take the pictures with no flash or the screen would white out. The people at NASA showed us what water looked like is space and how the astronauts trained. I got a lot of pictures. We were there for one hour. There were two people that talked to us. There names were Sarah and Tim. We learned a lot about the space station and stuff like that. ...Trevor

On May 26, 2000 the fifth grade class talked to NASA about being an astronaut and how the astronauts do things when they are in space. We learned that when an astronaut is in space they have to hook themselves up to the space ship with cords, so they do not float away from what they are doing. The people at NASA also told us a lot about the International Space Station. It was a lot of fun to talk to the people at NASA.... Autumn

The fifth grade had a transmission with NASA. NASA showed us the new space station. It is going to be the second brightest thing there is in the sky. At night we will see it.
They showed people traning. They also showed people eating in space. It was awesome. ..Jared

Friday we went into the distant learning lab and learned about NASA space center in Houston Texas. When we first got in the lab we had to wait to dial in on the space center. It was very educational to learn about the pool that the space people use in the training for weightlessness. We had a wonderful time talking to the people at NASA space center. I hope we can do it again sometime soon. ...Brandon

We had a talk with NASA on Friday the 26. We learned about the new space station thatís going up. They showed us a picture of a shuttle. I answered a question about it. They asked us why the shuttle was rounded, the answer was, "so the space station piece could fit in it", They said my answer was exactly right. I had a good time at the transmission. ...Ryan H.
