I really liked when the Purdoms came. It was fun. They told a lot of good stories. Some of them were funny. They also were very nice. I liked when they told the stories of about what everything was called when they were our age and older. I also like just when people tell stories a long time ago and when World War 1 and 2 were going on. I hope that they weren't nervs. I was glad that they could come. There stories were really good. I'm glad our school does the NetGap. ...Olivia

I think it is neat how we got to have people come and tell us some oral history. It is cool that Mrs. Purdom is from Bear Lake. It was funny when Mr. Purdom said he had a sickness that old people got when he was a kid. I just liked it that they were able to come here and talk to us about their childhood. ….Mallory

Following the presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Purdom, the students were able to ask questions. These digital photographs were taken by the students.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Purdum.
Thank you for coming to our classroom. I aprecheate all the stories and answers for the questions we asked. I loved every little story that you told. You were both very honest. I can't believe that ice cream was a nickel. I know how you feel Mrs. Purdom. I have an older brother. I also know how you feel Mr. Purdom. I have moved many places. I'd like to thank our crew and Mrs. Pebodie because without them none of this could happen. I aprecheate you coming and you can come back any time.
Sincerely,
Travis

I thought it was really neat how Mrs. Purdom got her hair permed. She said they used metal curlers with wires attached to them. I thought it sounded very scarey. It was also neat how Mr. Purdom talked about the blackouts. A blackout is when everybody turns off their lights and goes to a safe spot. They did that during World War II. The police went around and made sure all the lights were out. It was also pretty neat when they said a box of ice cream was only a dime. Some of the candy was only a penny too. They also said you paid a little to go to the theatre and you could stay and watch movies all day. It was really neat when Mr. Purdom talked about his first job. His first job was a pin setter at a bowling alley. I think it would have been neat to be alive back then. …Anna
