Peter and the Wolf

Students in the first grade acted out Sergei Prokofiev's symphonic fairy tale, Peter and the Wolf. Each character in the story is represented by a different instrument in the orchestra. The bird by the flute; the duck by the oboe; the cat by the clarinet; the grandfather by the bassoon; the wolf by the French horn; Peter by the violins, and the hunters by the timpani.
Students acted out each character and to Prokofiev's recording, and then created thier own sound effects as the story was acted out through dramatic movement.
