On December 5th, the Onekama Middle School broadcasting class loaded a bus to travel to the Channel 9 & 10 News station in Cadillac, Michigan. We toured the news station and discovered several career opportunities in broadcasting. At 12:00 noon, we sat quietly in the studio and watched a live broadcast. Scott Michael Trager, Amy Lynn and Dan Lee demonstrated how a professional news anchor and weatherman fulfill their jobs each day. On the way home, we stopped at McDonalds to each lunch. —Mrs. Michele Warman — Onekama Middle School Broadcasting Teacher | |

My favorite part of
the 9 & 10 News station was the sound room. The walls had a special
insulation that absorbed all sound. This is where most sound was edited
or recorded. It was a small room. It seemed almost like a cubicle with
foam on every wall. —Todd Lyman
