8th Grade Chicago Trip May 2013,  Page 2

Our Chicago class trip was fun. On the first day we went to the Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park, Gino's pizza place, and went swimming at the hotel. My favorite part of the first day was Shedd Aquarium. At Shedd Aquarium we got to watch an animal show and look at all the animals. I liked all the animals at the Shedd Aquarium. At the Museum of Science and Industry we got to do hands on stuff. We got to make slime and ride a in a coal mine. Also at the Museum of Science and Industry we got to see lightening, a tornado simulator, hamster wheel, and a rocket simulator. At Millennium Park we got to see the bean. The second day we got to go shopping on Michigan Avenue and we got to go to the Navy Pier. During our shopping time we went to the John Hancock Building and two stores. At Navy Pier we rode a Ferris wheel and went shopping in gift shops. After Navy Pier we went home. I had a great time in Chicago. ~Michele Haske

Our Chicago Trip
by Kelly Hall

On May 16-17 the 8th grade class went to Chicago. We had to be at school to get on the bus by 4:45 in the morning. It took us about five or six hours to get there. We took a charter bus. The first thing we did when we got to Chicago was to to the Museum of Science and Industry. It was really neat. What I liked most about the museum is it was interactive, and there was some hands on sites too. We got to see lightning, go in a tornado simulator, and run on a hamster wheel. There was also a little booth where we got to make slime. After the museum we went to Shedd Aquarium. Shedd was really interesting. There was a lot of different kinds of fish and sea creatures. A lot of them I've never heard of. They also gave us a sneak peek at one of their shows. It was really good. My favorite animal was the sea lions. After Shedd we went to Millennium Park. At Millennium Park we saw the Bean and some really neat water fountains. Then we went to Gino's Pizza for dinner. It was really good. At Gino's if you bring sharpies and white out, you can write on the walls. To end off our first day, we went to the hotel, put our stuff in our rooms, then changed and went swimming in the pool.

The next day, we had breakfast in the hotel, and then went shopping on Michigan Avenue. We only got two hours to shop, and my group and I only got to go to four stores. We went to the Navy Pier after that. At Navy Pier we went on a Ferris Wheel, and it was very cold. We went shopping in the gift shops, walked around, and then left to come home. For dinner we stopped somewhere way south of Onekama, and ended up getting back to school to go back to our houses at about 8:30. Overall, the trip was really fun, and I want to remember this for a while.

The last word

I had lots of fun in Chicago but the trip there was noisy. I didn't sleep a wink. I just sat there and closed my eyes. Brooke on the other hand was fast asleep and out cold. The other students watched the third Transformers movie but i tuned my classical tunes up full blast because I didn't want to hear the movie.

After a huge amount of time I decided it was best I changed from my PJ's to normal clothes. I got up and went into the little on board bathroom AND ... there was a window. A WINDOW IN THE BATHROOM!

When we FINALLY made a pit stop we all went to the bathroom and took pictures.  then back on the road!

In Chicago we stopped at the museum of science and technology and I was in heaven., but my feet weren't.  Oh there was so much to see and do but in the end ...   My feet were killing me. And it was even WORSE in the Shedd aquarium !

I also lost Mrs. K and the rest of my small group. I went looking at all the exhibits and I finally gave up and sat down in the Caribbean Tank lounge/room/ area thing. Then I heard "Oh, there you are!"
I turn around and there was Mercedes!

Me:  " Yeah ,I am here. Where were you! I've looked in all the exhibits lookin' for yeah!"
Sadie: "We were in the Gift shop this whole time"
Me:  Really.

Later we saw the dolphins and Jacob turned 5 again. There was a bind seal, a dog, and three beluga whales. Mommy ,daddy, and baby.

There's so much more I could add but I have finals to study for. So yeah I had fun and thank you for reading this.
