Onekama's Fifth Grade Girls

I am writing about the fifth grade girls
basketball game last night where we vs. the MCE Cardinals. The final
score was 8 to 16. We got the 16 part, the cardinals got the 8 part
so basically in other words the Portagers won! Go Portagers! My
favorite part of the game would have to be when we were tied 2 to 2
and no could seem to get a point. It's true they played good defense
so we didn't get to put it up to the basket much. It was a really
good game, and both teams did well. ~Amanda #54

We won 16 to
8 at MCE. We had a lot of fun playing. I skined my elbow. We had a
really good game and season. I can't wait until our next game! We
have 2 more games. ~Chloe #11 |

We played
"Mason County Eastern" on Monday. It was awesome to play them. My
sixth grade sister said they were hard, but we ended up winning 16
to 8. Number 22 was nice because she asked my name and she gave me
hers. She said we were officially friends. It was a great game.

At
basketball I had fun. The people were Jodi, Hope, Mckenna, Amanda,
Katie, Haley, Chloe, Maggie, and me. We won the game. One of the
other team girl's saved my head. Her number was 22. She went on top
of me. We all had a good night. ~DeeAnn #40 |

We played MCE on Monday. We won our score was
16 to 8. The 6th graders tied so they played 3 more minutes and 3 more
and 3 more. I made 2 or 3 baskets. This girl from the other team started
talking to us. We went there this time. It was fun playing them. ~Maggie

The 5th grade won. All of the girls played really well.
McKenna gave herself a birthday gift of playing great defense. The team
continues to improve with each game. ~Coach Mathieu

On Monday we played Mason County Eastern. It
was a really fun game. The score was 8 to 16. We won by 8 points. The
refs were really nice. They didn't call some of the fouls because they
wanted us to learn. ~Hope, #1 |
