7th Grade:
Monday night we traveled to Brethren for a volleyball match. In the
first game the 7th grade team won 21-17. In the second game the
Portagers lost 18-21. And in the third and final game the Onekama
Portagers fell to the Brethren Bobcats 11-15. Faith Moerdyk was the
team top scorer with 11 points. Sierra Warner helped the team with 7
points. And Mikelle Lonsbury and Sami Tiefenthal both scored 4 points
each. Emily Hippensteel added 1 point for her team. Jessa Gauthier
played on the 7th grade team to help them out so they would have enough
girls to play their game. Jessa got a serve over in the game. |
8th Grade:
Monday night the 8th graders played the Brethren Bobcats. In the first
game we lost 12-21, and in the second game we came back and one 21-14.
This then put us in a third and final game that is played to 15 points,
which was a really close game but lost 16-18. The Portagers put up a
good fight but just couldn't pull out a win. Sierra Hull led her team
with 7 points. Elizabeth Bergren and Emalee Schultz both scored 6
points each. Emily Bergren added 4 points for the Portagers. Becky
Cunningham scored 2 points and Kelly Koon added a point for the game.
Portagers play Bear Lake on Wednesday.
