.

Yesterday we had a guest speaker. His name was Mr. Bohannon. He is in the U.S. Air Force. He teaches people how to shoot guns. He showed us all of his gear. He also showed us a huge knife. He also showed us a slide show. He had pictures of some animals. He had a Dumb Dumb, a camel spider, and a king saubine. He was really cool.  From Jon, grade 5

On March 12, 2008, Mr. Bohannon came to our school. He told us what it was like to be in Iraq. He showed us a picture of a Dumb Dumb. They have  a pet scorpion and a camel spider. He has to carry about 155 pounds on his back. He used a 50 caliber. It was fun. From Brandin, grade 4

On March 12th Mr. Bohannon came to our school and talked about stuff he does. Sometimes he's in Iraq in war. When he was here we got to try on his vest. It weighed about 20 or 30 pounds. Then said add about 50 more pounds to that. Mr. Bohannon showed us what he puts his bullets in. He also showed us his badges. From Keegan grade 4

March 12, 2008 Mr. Bohannon came to our school. He is in the army. He was in Iraq and Crean. He showed us pictures. A pictures was a lizard. The lizard's name was dumb dumb. Mr. Bohannon let us look at his medals he got. He also let us look at the things they wear that will stop the bullet and he let us try on his vest he wears. I learned a lot of things about the army. It was a lot of fun. He was speaking in Mrs. Ramsey's room. I thought he was an awesome speaker. It was amazing. I was glad that Mr. Bohannon came to our school. He showed us a desert fox. He also said they had a scorpion for a pet and if it stung you would have been paralyzed. He said they were looking for spiders and scorpions and they lifted a rock and his buddy almost got paralyzed because there was a clear scorpion right on the rock. I learned all about animals they found and all about the army. I learned they have to wear 75 pounds everyday. I thought it was the best speech ever. From Ashley, grade 4

To Sgt. Bohannon,
I would like to thank you for coming to our class to talk about the Air Force. I plan to go into the Air Force and what you talked about helped to prepare me. It was really interesting and I hope to be accepted into the Air Force. I liked to see the wildlife as well as the machinery and people. This was much better than regular class because I got to learn without having to study. Thank you for your presence in our class yesterday

I liked the guy who talked to us because he answered things I wanted to know. I also got to see cool pictures of things like a lizard called a Dum-Dum. We got to get out of class and that was fun. I learned being in his job would be really hard. You would have to train hard and carry around a heavy thing on your back. Maybe one day I might try it.

Dear Sergeant Bohannon,
It was pretty cool that you told us about what you do. You made class interesting when you showed those slides. My grandfather once fought in war and I know that you are in the air force. The lizard slides were cool. Also the medals were amazing. Thank you for showing us the amazing things you do.

Dear Mr. Bohannon,
Yesterday was one of the best class times we have had all year. I thought it was fun to just listen and learn and not to have to read or write. My favorite part was seeing all the cool pictures. It was almost like you where there because you could just see what was happening at that time. Thank you so much for all you've done. It was really nice of you to take that time out of your day to come and talk about the Air Force. Thanks we all had a good time!!!=))

Dear Mrs. Eldridge
Yesterday Mr. Bohannon came in and talked about the air force. I thought that he was funny when he talked about the lizard, called dumb dumb. Then, he said that his room he sleeps in is small. I would not want a small room for a long time. He said he has been in air force for 15 years. I asked him if he missed his family and he said when they talk on a phone it does not mean the same thing as talking to them in person. Well it was so much better then doing work.

Dear Mr. Bohannon I learned that there is a camel spider. My favorite part was that I got to try on gear. I think that your medals where vary cool. The trucks where big and I would feel very safe if I had to ride in one. I like that we did not have to do work to learn.
From Justin Ennis

Dear. Mr. Bohannon.
I did not learn a whole lot but it was very interesting to have you there. It was fun to get out of class. I knew what you were talking about. I am a big fan of the military. My whole life I've been wanting to go in to the military. In my life there is nothing to look forward to but the military is my only thing.

On Wednesday Sergeant Mike Bohannon came to our class and told us about his time in Kuwait. He told us what he does and what he drives.  He showed us pictures of things he saw while he was there. He also showed us some things he did. The slide show was my favorite part of the class. Sergeant Bohannon also showed us some of the stuff he had to carry around on him.  I thought this was really cool

Yesterday Mr. Bohannon came in to talk to us about what he did while he was there. He let us see so of the stuff that he uses like a vest which weighed 27 pounds! The thing I liked most about Mr. Bohannon coming in was the pictures that he showed us. I liked yesterday because he showed us some really cool medals and the picture of the dumb dumb. I learned
that the soil there is so hard that it is almost cement so when it rains the water just stays there. The thing that interested me the most was the picture of the camel spider.

Dear, Mr. Bohannon
Thank you very much for one teaching us a lot about the military and second thank you for serving our country.  I learned a lot about Kuwait and what the military is like, I'm sure the other kids did too.  All the pictures and medals you brought were very interesting.
The climate seemed very different from what it is here.  I appreciate your help in the military.
Sincerely,
Logan Fogarty

Yesterday Sergeant Bohannon came in and showed are class and the 5th grade class what he does in the air force. It was cool to get to see him after not seeing him in a while. He shows us what he has to wear around, he has to wear his bullet proof vest night and day, and he also has a supply vest. He said that he has at least 100 pounds of extra weight on him. The pictures he had of Quate were very cool, the animals, the way the people built their buildings were cool. I think all the vehicles were very cool. It was cool to see Sergeant Bohannon was awesome!!
