Text Box: Mini Society is where you get to make a store/game and sell items that you made yourself. All the money that you make goes toward something great. Mini Society teaches kids economics and capitalism. Most of the kids in Mini Society like it because they get to pretty much do whatever they want (like pick their store, make their products, etc.) and they get no homework. You can tell when kids are messing around because they don’t make as much money. The teacher who teaches this class is Mrs. Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey taught this class for about five years. All the money that is made in Mini Society goes into GREAT Text Box: prizes. Them prizes are in a auction that the kids in Mini Society get to auction off.

Student Council is where students go to talk about upcoming events. People on Student Council are a positive voice for OMS (Onekama Middle School). Student Council will be doing spirit week, winter activity day, and any other activities students suggest. Last year the lemonade stand was a fun activity and if the students wanted to do it again this year they could. All of the money raised last year went to foundations of a good cause, Alex's Lemonade Stand and Relay for Life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand is a stand was started Text Box: by this girl named Alex who had cancer. Today it is ran for kids who have cancer. “A pencil dispenser would be a good idea in the HS/MS halls.  It can be something that gets re-looked into.” Mrs. Turk said.
Text Box: For the 8th grade field trip we will be going to Chicago, Illinois. On our first day in Chicago we will be doing a lot of things that are educational. When we get done with the educational stuff we will be going to a motel (where we will be staying for the night) and we Text Box: are going to go swimming. The next day we are suppose to go to a studio, ESPN gaming (where you play arcade games), and a Blue Man concert. After we go to the concert we will be heading home. We will show up at the school in the morning the next day. We Text Box: are doing some fundraising. All the money that we make while fundraising goes to help pay for the kids to go. (if they show up at the fundraiser). We wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of Mrs. Ramsey.
