George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver was born a slave his parents but rose to be an important agricultural scientist. He was in 1861- 1943, but there are many different dates they are between 1861- 1864. George Washington was born on a farm near Diamond, Missouri, in 1864.     

             George Washington was born on a farm near Diamond, Missouri, in 1864. George Washington Carver was born during the Civil War, when he was 10 years old. He went to Iowa State for agricultural science.

             He discovered that he could make many products from peanuts. He made things like soap, ink, flour, axle grease, and other products. He was a very good agricultural scientists.

                 George Washington Carver died on January 5, 1943. He died at Tuskegee.  The farm that he was born on, is now the George Washington Carver National Monument in 1943. In 1940 he donated his savings to the George Washington Carver foundation at Tuskegee for agricultural research.
