Middle School  Student Council

We are selling lemonade. It all started with a girl named Alex. She was about one year old when her parents were told she had cancer. She said that she wanted to raise money for cancer children like herself by starting a lemonade stand. She raised $10,000,000. Today we raised $125 for children with cancer. We raised a lot for one day. ….by Curtis McKenney, grade 6

According to advisor, Candace Turk, the students are off to a good start toward their goal of $500. After Tuesday’s lemonade stand, they had already raised $125 to go to Alex’s Foundation.   Thanks to those who bought today—we should have a lot of kids wearing Happy Face stickers showing that they contributed.

Kick-Off  //  Promotion

These next two weeks we are doing a Lemonade Stand to raise money for kids with cancer. It all started with Alex. When she was only one she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, I think. Then she decided to have a lemonade stand to raise money for a cure. She died when she was 8, but she raised 10 million dollars for a cancer cure. ….Emily Barnard, 6th grade
