Fifth & Sixth Grade Football On Monday September 26 the Manistee Maroon team came to Onekama to take on our Portagers in a game that was played on a very nice late afternoon. In the 1st Quarter with 2:33 left Quinn Mathew took the ball and scampered 42 yards for a TD. Scott Wethy ran in the 2 pt conversion and OHS was up 8-0. |

Manistee came right back and scored to tie the game at 8-8. Onekama's Scott Wethy took the ball and got into the open field and ran 65 yards for a TD with 33 seconds left on the clock, but Manistee wasn't done scoring either as they scored with just 7 seconds left in first quarter to tie game at 14 apiece after one quarter. Manistee scored once in the 2nd quarter to take a halftime lead of 20-14. Manistee scored 1st in the 3rd quarter to take a 28-14 lead, but Quinn took the ball from quarter back Dylan and raced to the end zone from 46 yards out. The 2 pt conversion was no good, and MHS led going into the final quarter by a score of 28-20. |
