Grade Game at Onekama

On
a damp evening the Brethren Bobcats traveled to Onekama
to take on the young Portagers at OHS. With 5:27 left in
the 1st quarter quarterback Dylan Koschtail, on
quarterback keeper, ran the ball in from 9 yards for a
score. Quinn Matthews ran the 2 point conversion in to
give OHS a 8-0 lead at the half. The Bobcats scored early
in the 3rd quarter and their 2 point conversion was good
to tie the score at 8-8. With 1:44 left in the 3rd
quarter Quinn took the handoff from Dylan from 4 yards
out and ran in for a touchdown. The 2 point conversion
was no good, and OHS was ahead 14-8 going into the 4th
quarter. With 6:15 left in the game Quinn took the
handoff from Dylan and ran the ball in for a touchdown
from 28 yard out and Scott Wethy ran in the 2 point
conversion to give OHS/BL a 22-8 lead. The Bobcats took
the kickoff and ran it all the way back for a touchdown,
and the 2 point conversion was no good. The Portagers
were still ahead 22-14. Brethren came close to a score
near the end, but the Portagers shut them down to come
away with their 1st win of the season. |
