On Wednesday afternoon the Onekama/Bear Lake Football team took on the MCC Sabers at Portager Field on a beautiful afternoon that was almost too warm for a football game. Both teams showed up with their blue jerseys. The game was delayed a few minutes while the OHS/BL went down to the lockeroom and put on their white jersey tops. Onekama kicked off to MCC in a game that was a defense battle. |

The only score in the whole game was made when Thomas Koon took a handoff from Quarterback Dan Gillespie and ran it in from 10 yards out for 6 points with 2 minutes and fifty four seconds left in the second quarter. The 2 point conversions was no good and the team played a defense battle the rest of the game. The Onekama Portagers won by a score of 6-0 over MCC to improve there record to 2-0 on the season Their next game is next Wednesday at Home against Baldwin at 4:30 p.m. |
