9/29 | Baldwin Away | The 7th & 8th grade football team won 30-20. They traveled down to Baldwin to take on the Panthers. The Portagers scored first and built a 22-6 halftime lead, but Baldwin came back in the 2nd half to cut the score to 22-20. 10/26 | Lake City Home | In a mist of
rain, Lake city scored first with 54 seconds left in the
1st quarter to go up 0-6 on the Portagers. They scored
again in the 2nd quarter and made the 2 point conversion
to lead at the half 0-14. Then with 2 seconds left in the
3rd quarter Lake City scored again to make it 0-20. With
5:20 left in the 4th quarter Zach Teachout scampered 34
yards to put OHS on the score board and Dan Gillespie ran
the 2 point conversion in to make the score 8-20. Late in
the quarter Lake City scored again to make the final
score 8-26 for a Lake City victory. Our young Portagers
finished the season with a 3-3 record. We would like to thank Coaches Chris Thomas and Gerry Matthews for a fine job with these young men and all the parents, sisters, brothers, grandparents and friends that showed their support. Also thanks to the people that ran the chains and down markers during the season and to Dave Nesburg for being our play by play announcer. |
