Then at 1:00 p.m. our 8th grade Portagers took on county rival the Brethren Bobcats after the 1st quarter OHS was behind by as score of 4-12 to Brethren and at the half they were down 12-18 but in the 3rd quarter they came out and had a great quarter as they scored 16 points and held the Bobcats at bay as they only scored 4 points so going into the final quarter OHS was ahead by a score of 28-22 with a victory in sight. The Bobcats wouldn't give up as they held our Portagers to just 4 points but that wasn't enough as Brethren couldn't score either as they missed a shot under the basket as the horn sounded and Onekama squeaked out a 34-32 Victory over there county rival to move on to the championship game next Saturday. Pacing our young Portagers today was Aaron Fisher as he swished through 13 points, Hunter Slade nailed 7, Levi Capper connected for 6, Zac Gilbert added 4 and Ryan Fink and Drew Griswold each had 2 points.

Seventh Grade action began at 10:00 a.m. with MCE playing Frankfort. Bear Lake didn't have a 7th grade team so Frankfort was chosen to fill in for them. Frankfort won by a score of 47 to 31 over MCE.
