Then at 1:00 p.m. our 8th grade Portagers took on county rival the Brethren Bobcats after the 1st quarter OHS was behind by as score of 4-12 to Brethren and at the half they were down 12-18 but in the 3rd quarter they came out and had a great quarter as they scored 16 points and held the Bobcats at bay as they only scored 4 points so going into the final quarter OHS was ahead by a score of 28-22 with a victory in sight. The Bobcats wouldn't give up as they held our Portagers to just 4 points but that wasn't enough as Brethren couldn't score either as they missed a shot under the basket as the horn sounded and Onekama squeaked out a 34-32 Victory over there county rival to move on to the championship game next Saturday. Seventh Grade action began at 10:00 a.m. with MCE playing Frankfort. Bear Lake didn't have a 7th grade team so Frankfort was chosen to fill in for them. Frankfort won by a score of 47 to 31 over MCE.
