The Community Kids group worked at the Norwalk Church and at the Trinity Lutheran Church playgrounds. They cleaned the equipment by stripping it and applying a clear seal. One project I liked was The Arc at Trinity Church. I learned that anyone in the community can come and play. One thing I learned was not to spray anyone with bleach. (It takes the color out of your clothes.) ...Chelsea

Kids Club In community kids club I helped with the birdhouses. I also helped clean up the bus garage. I helped clean up the playground at Norwalk Church. We cleaned up the Ark at Trinity also. I also walked in the Relay For Life. We also did the beach sweep at Portage Lake. I helped make the banner for the Relay for Life. I also helped make stars and we put those on the ends of Popsicle sticks so they became bookmarks, and we are sending those to the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom. Without our freedom I may not have been able to do all of these things to help our community. I am glad that we can decide our own religion and live how we want to live not how some cruel dictator wants us to live. We can also worship God how we want to and not be scared to do so, always afraid that you will be persecuted for your beliefs. That is not what freedom is about. In the Community Kids Club if we earn enough hours we can get a signed letter signed by the president. In other countries you would not be able to do that. I am glad that God has given us a good president to lead us through the crisis of September 11th, and continues to lead the nation in the after affects of the crisis. When I get older I hope to keep doing community service so I can use the freedom we have. I will also continue to serve God freely because I have the freedom too, and I don’t have to live in fear of being persecuted for my beliefs. That is why we have freedom and nobody should take advantage of these freedoms that God has granted us.
