Dec. 16 Home	Brethren	Onekama Won: Onekama 36 Brethren 32 ; Nick Swisher 12 pts, Justin Sedlemaier 10 and Dave Gillespie 10 pts
Jan. 6 Away	Manistee	Onekama Won: The 8th grade won against Manistee by a score of 44 to 22 as they played on the third floor of the Middle School gym. What a place to see a game! After this season this gym will no longer be used. Taylor Fraly 15 points, Dave Gillespie 13 points. and Nick Swisher 10 points.
Jan. 8 Home	MCE Game Photographs	Onekama Lost: The 8th grade played MCE at home and lost by a score of Onekama 20 MCE 43. Tayler Fraly had 9 points for the Portagers.
Jan. 13 Home	Bear Lake Game Photographs	Onekama Won: Monday night 01/13/03 the 8th graders gained a split with the Bear Lake Lakers for the season by defeating them by a score of 35 to 29 to even their season record at 3-3 Talyor Fraly led the young Portagers with 19 points followed by Nick Swishers with 7 points. 7th grade records
Jan. 15 Away	Brethren	Onekama Won: The eighth grad went to Brethren to play the Bobcats. Before a very exciting and very loud crowd, the Portagers scored a basket at the buzzer to force the game into overtime. They hung on to win by a score 48 to 44. Dave Gillespie had 16 point for the Portagers and Taylor Fraly had 11 points.
Jan. 16 Home	Frankfort	Onekama Won: The 8th grade played the Frankfort Panthers at home in yet another close game. The score was tied at 23 apiece at halftime. The Portagers out did the Panthers in the 2nd half to win by a score of 41 to 37. Dave Gillespie had 16 points, Talyor Fraly 14, and Nike Swisher 8 points
Jan. 22 Home	Walkerville	Onekama Lost: The Wildcats were just too much for the young Portagers as they lost by a score of 20 to 52, and they saw there season record drop to 5 and 4 . Dave Gillespie put in 8 points for the 8th grade.
Jan. 25 Away	Tournament	Onekama Lost: The 8th Basketball team played at Bear Lake on Saturday against the Mason County Cardinals and after a close first half and only trailing by 6 points at halftime the Cardinal were just to much for the young Portagers in the second half and lost to the Cardinals for the third time this year. They will play next Saturday at Bear Lake at 10:00 a.m. in the consolation game against Brethren. They have defeated Brethren twice this year. Their season is now 5-5. They play Mesick on Wednesday of this upcoming week at 5:30 p.m.
Jan. 29 Away	Mesick	Onekama Won: The 8th graders traveled to Mesick and beat the Mesick Bulldogs and improved their record to 6 and 5.
Feb. 1 Away	Tournament	Onekama Takes Third Place: The 8th graders played in the consolation game at Bear Lake in the West Michigan D North Division Tournament and defeated the Brethren Bobcats to take 3rd place and finish the season with a winning record of 7 and 5 congratulations 8th graders on a winning season.
