Cheer for Success

Go! Fight! Win! That is just one of the cheers that you will hear when you see the Onekama seventh and eighth grade cheerleading squad. They have worked hard all season to cheer their hearts out. The girls consist of Cari Howard, Nichole Baranek, Tara Lyman, Amber Smith, Jenny Rich, and Noelle Barna. The girls are coached by Wonda Kinnan.

The squad’s cheering has brought the boys’ basketball team to many victories. The girls’ coach says that she is very proud of the squad. Eighth grade cheerleader Amber Smith says, "My favorite cheer is Hot-To-Go, because it is easy to learn." She also said, "Cheerleading is a great way to exercise, and you get to watch the boys play at the same time."
