The Junior high boys played both nail-biting and exciting games. MCE (Mason County Eastern) was eager to beat Onekama.

The 8th game got underway as the sorrowful 7th graders left the court. Joe Catanese tipped off for Onekama, but MCE won the bout. It was a close game in the first quarter, but Onekama fought back to lead at halftime. Coach Brown reminded the 8th graders that the MCE team has been victorious in every game they have played in the past two years! Onekama fought hard for a win, and they got it. Onekama stopped MCE in defense, and they pulled away with a vast score over the MCE Cardinals. MCE is eager for revenge, for they meet again at MCE later in the year.

Last night in Junior High Boys Basketball action the 8th grade took it to the Benzie B team. Coming back from and upset at Manistee, they defeated the Huskies 28-20.

The Portagers are now 5-1, and their future looks promising. With their next game against the Frankfort Panthers coming up next Monday they've got a lot of time to prepare. Here's what one of their starting forwards Dan McElreath has to say, "I think that the Panthers are going to be looking for revenge!"

It sounds like it's going to be a nail biter, but I think they can do it.
