Onekama
Education Foundation Fund |
In
2005 the Onekama Consolidated Schools Educational
Foundation created a permanent endowment fund and a
pooled grant and scholarship fund at the Manistee County
Community Foundation. The goal was to promote
academic excellence for students of Onekama Consolidated
Schools and provide expanded opportunities for financial
stewardship through the foundation. Onekama Consolidated Schools Educational Foundation Endowment Fund This fund was originally established in 1993 with the donation of the Warren Vaughn Tennis Courts. To date, over $80,000 has been granted by this fund for projects that include Reading Stars, stage curtains, sound systems, as well as football field and track renovation. Onekama Consolidated Schools Educational Foundation Grant & Scholarship Fund This is a pooled asset scholarship fund that allows for named scholarships to be awarded permanently, five years, or ten years depending on the initial donation. There are currently two funds: ORorke Memorial Scholarship and the Robert E. Fitch & Beverly J. Fitch Memorial Scholarship.
