Class Presentation: Testing the Waters

 

The culmination of each year's lake study is the presentation to the village and township officials.

An Ongoing Study

Starting in the elementary and continuing through the middle and high school grades, students at Onekama School are involved in water study activities.

Students practice using water testing equipment and listen to information before going out on the Portage Lake.

Meaningful Service

Students come to realize that the information they gather are useful to the community.

The students take pre-tests to see how much they know about the lake just below the school hill.

Students prepare drawings and text to show what they have learned.

Using the computers they prepare Power Point presentations.
