ONEKAMA — The Onekama
volleyball team topped
Walkerville 25-27,
25-12, 25-21, 25-22 on
Tuesday night for its
first victory of the
season.
After
falling in the extended
first set, the Portagers
bounced back for the
West Michigan D League
win.
“Everybody was playing real well together out there,”
said Onekama coach Sherri Slater. “It was a good, solid team win;
everyone contributed.
“It was nice to get a
win, which hopefully boosts their confidence some, because they really
did play well.”
Slater said libero Aly Clarke sparked the team
defensively while Quinn LaMont had a team-high 11 kills and seven
assists, Anna Brown had seven aces, four kills and 13 assists, and Tawny
Kott and Hailey Kott each had four aces while serving at 100 percent.
