Onekama sweeps series against TC Christian

TRAVERSE CITY — The Onekama softball team bounced back from a pair of losses to Shelby over the weekend with a sweep of Traverse City Christian on Tuesday.

The Portagers (16-9) won the opener 10-4 and took the second game 11-5.

Emily Bergren got the win in the opener after allowing just two hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings and had a single at the plate. Kaylan Fitch and Hailey Kott also had a hit each and the Onekama defense committed just one error.

Elizabeth Bergren led Onekama with two hits in the second game while Emily Bergren, Madeleine Smeltzer, Sierra Warner and Alyssan Clarke had one hit each. Ashley Kubiskey got the win after allowing four hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
