ONEKAMA — The Onekama girls basketball team jumped out to
a big lead early en route to a 72-41 West Michigan D League win against
Pentwater on Thursday night.
Alexis Tribfelner led the Portagers (7-1, 5-1) with 17
points and five steals, Hailey Kott scored 15, Martina Karlsdotter had
11 and Caitlin Zielinski and Tawny Kott finished with seven points
apiece.
Kaitlin Kubiskey chipped in six points, Nisha Collins
five and Kaylan Fitch and Hanah Gilbert had two apiece as Onekama won
its fourth straight game. The team travels to Lake Leelanau St. Mary
tomorrow night. |
“I told them the main thing was let’s get clicking right
at the beginning and play hard,” said Onekama coach Nathan Bradford. “I
said let’s jump on them early and then I’ll rotate everybody in so
everybody is fresh for tomorrow. Everybody got in and did a good job.”
The Onekama JV team beat Manistee Catholic Central 39-36
in overtime on Thursday. Kaylor DeWitt led the Potagers with 18 points
while Emma Putney scored 10.
