Onekama started its season strong
Tuesday night with a 49-44 victory over Frankfort. The Portagers kept
the out-of-county rival at bay for most of the night after the teams
held each other to a 9-9 tie in the first. "I don't know when we last
beat them," Portager coach Nathan Bradford said. "It was a good
statement game for us." Tawny Kott let the way with 16 points, four
rebounds, and four steals while Kayla Kosiboski scored 14 to go with
five boards and three blocks. Hailey Kott scored eight with four
rebounds. Kaylan Fitch added 4, Alexis Tribferner 3, Caitlin
Zielinski and Martina Karlsdotter each provided 2.
