Portagers take two against Panthers

ONEKAMA — The Onekama baseball team rolled to
a West Michigan D League sweep against Baldwin on Monday.
The Portagers (3-0, 3-0 WMD) won the
opener 10-0 in five innings and took the second game 16-1 in three
innings in their home opener.
“Everybody seemed to pitch in,” said
Onekama coach John Neph. “They were very good team wins.” |
Joe Eno picked up the win on the mound in the
first game after allowing just three hits while striking out 11 and had
a pair of doubles. Dallas Hearit chipped in two hits and three runs
while Curtis McKenney had a hit and scored twice.
Hearit threw a three-inning no-hitter in the
second game to go with three strikeouts and came up with a pair of hits
at the plate. The Portagers scored four runs in the first inning and
blew the game open with 11 in the second and Eno led the way with a
3-for-3 performance at the plate. |
