Portagers sweep

WALKERVILLE — The Onekama baseball team cruised to a pair of wins over West Michigan D League foe Walkerville on Thursday.

The Portagers took the opener 18-0 in three innings
 and the nightcap 17-7 in five, for a pair of mercy-rule victories.

Joe Eno was credited for both wins on the mound. He faced the minimum nine batters in his start in the opener, allowing just a hit with five strikeouts.

 At the plate for game one, Eno, Cordell Williams, Dallas Hearit and Josh Jacobs each had two hits.

In the nightcap, Eno got the win in relief of Nolan Miller as Onekama (12-15, 9-3 WMD) broke open a 5-5 tie after the first frame.

At the plate, Hearit, Joe Eno, Jon Eno, Stephen Verrett, Curtis McKenney, Nick Osborn and Morgan Ledford each had two hits.
