Onekama holds on against Marion

MARION — The Onekama girls basketball team
picked up a 51-48 non-league win against Marion on Tuesday.
“We came out and played pretty well the whole game,” said Onekama
coach Nathan Bradford. “I was pleased.”

Taylor Hagen had 15 points and seven rebounds
to lead the Portagers (8-6) while Lindsay Nesburg had 15 points and five
steals.
Also for Onekama, Jennica Mathieu had nine points, Kelly Koon scored
seven to go with four assists and four steals, Danielle Ward had four
points and nine rebounds and Nicole Slater scored one. Onekama held a
30-17 lead at halftime before Marion pulled within two points heading
into the fourth quarter before the the Portagers made their free
throws down the stretch. |
