FRANKFORT — Onekama closed its season with a 27-0 loss at Frankfort on Friday. The win puts the Panthers (6-3) in the playoffs for a 16th straight season, while the Portagers close the season at 3-6.

Onekama struggled moving the ball against Frankfort — finishing with just 61 yards of total offense — and couldn’t get off the field in key defensive situations.

“They’re a good ball club,” said Onekama coach Jim Hunter. “You can’t not move the ball. You can't keep going three-and-out, three-and-out.  Bad things are going to happen eventually. Frankfort, which had a 14-0 lead at halftime, found the end-zone once in each quarter.

Onekama’s Tyler Fogarty had an interception while Raul Torres blocked an extra point on Frankfort’s final score in the fourth quarter.

“I’m not disappointed in the effort,” Hunter said. “The kids played hard.”
