CHARLEVOIX MUD RUN - Sept. 11, 2010
The Dearborn Edsel Ford Thunderbirds won the boys' team title with a combined time of 1 hour, 31 minutes, 38 seconds. Gaylord was second at 1:32:23, followed by Charlevoix, Harbor Springs & Petoskey.

The top 10 runners in each race earned a medal. The fields were split into two divisions based on school enrollment, Division I-II-III, and Division IV.

Divine Child was first in Division I-II-III girls' competition, followed by Gaylord and Cadillac. Harbor Springs won the Division IV portion, followed by Traverse City St. Francis and Bear Lake. Jaylee Brown, Bear Lake, 22:22 was 10th in her division.

Twenty-five teams comprised the boys' field, 28 comprised the girls' field. The team standings were determined by the top seven times per team in the 11-12 and 9-10 grade races.

The course included three large water holes, one of which included two cedar logs to form a steeple jump, and hay bales.

"The Charlevoix Township and Charlevoix City fire departments are out here every year at 6 a.m. and spend two to three hours filling up those water holes," Charlevoix girls' coach Mary Plude said. "It just would not be the event we have if they weren't willing to take the time and get up in the morning and do that."
