At Thursday night’s Paint the Town Pink walk in downtown Manistee, a
high-speed and high-spirited group of high school students joined the
effort to fight breast cancer. The Bear Lake/Onekama Cross Country team,
led by their coach Eric Ross, was happy to lend their energy and support
to this important cause. The team wore bright pink shirts, provided by
MacBeth & Co. of Onekama, which read, The Cure: A Team Effort. |

“It felt great to be a part of such a significant event,” said Onekama
junior Jaylee Brown. “The message on our shirts is an important one. If
we do hope to find a cure, it must happen with everyone working together
and not taking their eyes off the finish line.” |
