Routine/ Rules of Conduct

 

1.     At the tone in your assigned seat. Late with no note is considered a tardy.

2.     Tardy after the final tone is for the first 10 minutes, after that it is considered an unexcused absent. Sign the tardy sheet will change the tardy from absent to tardy in the computer. The third offence will be referred to RTC.

3.     Talking during open shop is OK but during a lecture or demonstration is NOT.

4.     If you want to leave the shop for any reason you will need a PASS. Please ask and sign the sign out sheet with time.

5.     All assignment will be given to do in class (no homework). Homework may be the result of an excused absence.

6.     Work handed in late will lose one full letter grade. Late work if it is an excused absent, will be based on a reasonable time frame by the instructor.

7.     Wood shop will have a basket to hand in finished assignments. It is a good practice to hold on to all assignments for the entire semester.

8.     Hats in the woodshop are to be used as safety equipment.

9.     NO FOOD or DRINK in class, only WATER with caps. 

10.  Clean up will be in the final 5 minutes of class time. The woodshop will have assigned areas to be cleaned. If you make a mess please clean it up.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

 

I. The first time is a verbal warning and if safety related, you will be asked to put your name, date and brief description of the rule violation.

II. The second offense for the same rule will result in a referral to RTC and loss of shop time on that equipment. The instructor will determine the length of time.

III. The third offense for the same rule will result in a referral to RTC and a teacher, student, parent/ guardian and principal meeting or a call home before the student is allowed to come back to the lab or use the equipment in question.

A.    Running or any form of horseplay.

B.    Throwing of objects in the lab.

C.    The use of profanity. (Trip to the office, no RTC)

D.    Any form of back talk to the instructor.

E.    Failure to use machines or equipment safely (apply safety rules). Protective eyewear is to be worn during all open woodshop labs.

          F.   BULLYING or HARASSMENT (Trip to the office, no RTC).

A student will be suspended from the shop and further action will be requested in conference with parents/ guardian and principal. The replacement cost will be the responsibility of the student and parent or guardian. Removal from the program may occur.

A.    The deliberate or planned damage to materials, tools, equipment or machines.

B.    The deliberate or planned vandalism to other student's project.

I have read and understand the consequences of any violation of the conduct code.
