BRETHREN — Onekama rolled to a West Michigan D League victory over Brethren Friday night, 47-27.

The Portagers (6-3, 6-2 WMD) were led by Sherece Revolt who had a game-high 26 points, 20 of which came in the second half, to go along with six rebounds and five steals.

Onekama’s Taylor Hagen scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds, Jaylee Brown had six points, Jennica Mathieu had five points, seven rebounds and seven steals while Brooke Sedelmaier chipped in one point.

“We came out a little bit flat,” Portagers coach Nathan Bradford said. “Brethren played us tough in the first half and it took awhile for us to pull away.”

Brethren (0-10, 0-8 WMD) was led by Becca Priest and Elana Hickok with seven points apiece while Sarah Colbrook added six, Amanda Peck scored three, Tiffany Capps had two, and Carissa Humphreys and Megan Regula each scored one.

“I thought our effort was good tonight,” said Bobcats coach Warren Ostrander, but cited his team’s 30 turnovers.

“You can’t win a basketball game when you turn it over more than you score,” he said.
