BIG RAPIDS — The Crossroads Charter Academy girls basketball team wrapped up its third straight West Michigan D League title with a 52-45 victory over Onekama on Friday night.

The Cougars have won four straight conference titles going back to the Alliance League.

“Winning four in-a-row is a testament not only to the girls on this year’s team, but to the girls who played before,” CCA coach J.J. Eads said.

Crossroads led 47-41 and watched the Portagers score the first bucket of the first quarter. The Cougars struggled to score in the final eight minutes, netting their first bucket with 2:30 remaining.

However, Onekama also struggled from the field and couldn’t get any closer.

CCA outscored the Portagers 5-4 in the fourth quarter.

Katelynn Kellogg paced the Cougars with 14 points, while Amy Thorne finished with 11 points, eight assists and eight rebounds. Chloe Balanda finished with eight points.

Onekama was led by Taylor Hagen with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sherece Revolt added 16 points for the Portagers.
