Onekama runs away from Baldwin

ONEKAMA — Onekama rolled to its third straight win Tuesday against Baldwin in a 74-56 West Michigan D League victory.

“For the most part, I thought we played a really good game,” Onekama coach Nathan Bradford said. “Everyone came in and worked the ball around good as a team. It was a good win.”

The Portagers’ Taylor Hagen, Sherece Revolt and Jennica Mathieu poured it in with a combined for 62 points as Hagen had 23, Revolt 21 and Mathieu 18. Also for Onekama (11-4, 10-3 WMD), Lexi Howard and Brooke Sedelmaier each had six points.

Hagen also had team-highs with eight rebounds and five steals, while Revolt had seven rebounds, three steals and four assists, Sedelmaier had four steals, Mathieu had three steals, Diamond Kimpel had six rebounds and Katie Prielipp had four assists.

The Onekama junior varsity team topped Manistee Catholic Central 49-33. Lindsay Nesburg led the Portagers with 17 points while Danielle Ward had 12. The Sabers were led by Stephanie Smogoleski who had 12 points and seven rebounds while Ashlyn Jansma had 11 points and four steals.
