Bear Lake harriers take sixth at Portage

PORTAGE — The Bear Lake cross country teams
recorded a pair of sixth-place finishes at the 2009 Portage Invitational
on Saturday.
The Laker boys took sixth in their 28-team division with 215 points,
behind winner Concord (65), Bridgeman (101), North Muskegon (107),
Potterville (122) and Hesperia (180). |
Bear Lake’s Chuck Schoedel took 15th in
17:02, followed by Tyler Groenwald (32nd, 17:42), Josh Goins (45th,
17:59), Lewis Bartlett (58th, 18:21), Ryan Pienta (65th, 18:24), Danny
Brown (72nd, 18:35) and Alex Ringle (79th, 18:42).
The Laker girls placed sixth in their 21-team division with 231 points,
behind winner Manton (77), Hesperia (101), Saugatuck (118), Battle Creek
St. Phillip (165) and Concord (178).
Jaylee Brown led the Lakers with a
ninth-place finish in 20:26, followed by Tobi Schoedel (12th, 20:49),
Elizabeth Schoedel (37th, 21:43), Samantha Mullet (84th, 23:55), Yumi
Babinec (89th, 24:04) and Taylor Anderson (98th, 24:42). |
