ONEKAMA — The Bear Lake boys basketball team edged rival Onekama 64-53 Thursday night in both team’s season finale, and what should be the last game every played on the Portagers’ current floor.

Onekama is in the middle of a renovation which will include a new gymnasium.

“I’m always happy to wiggle out of Onekama with a win,” said Bear Lake coach Bryan Groenwald.

Cody Reed had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers (11-9), Patrick Spalding had 19 points and six rebounds, while Weston Brooks nearly pulled out a triple-double with eight points, 12 blocks and 10 rebounds. Guys Corner

Rumor has it that one of these men seated in the corner played in the first basketball game of the current gym.  How appropriate that he is here to witness the final game in the same gym. (hint: He is wearing a blue sweater)
