at Walkerville | The Onekama junior varsity started the season with a 71-27 road victory over Walkerville on Monday. Tanner Kott had 8 rebounds to lead Onekama, followed by Joe Eno with 5. The Portager's suffocating defense was led by Bryce Reckow who recorded 5 steals. Reckow also led the team in scoring with 14 points. Kott added 10, followed by Eno with 9 points. Quinn Matthews, Curtis McKenney and Kyle Acker scored 8 points apiece. Derek Hobart chipped in with 7 points, John Curtin had 3, while Jake Florian and Cody Graf scored 2 points each. ~Coach Balmer |

Thursday Dec. 17 |
at Big Rapids Cross Roads | The Portager junior varsity hung on to win, 46-42, despite a late rally from Big Rapids Academy in the fourth period. Tanner Kott was a monster in the frontcourt, recording 13 rebounds to go along with a game-high 18 points. Kyle Acker also came up big with 14 points. at Mason Co. Eastern | The Portager junior varsity was upset by a feisty Mason County Eastern squad by a score of 36-46. Tanner Kott and Kyle Acker led Onekama with 15 and 11 rebounds, respectively.
