ONEKAMA — The Onekama baseball team won both games of a West Michigan D
League doubleheader by mercy rule against Big Rapids Crossroads Charter
Academy on Monday.
The Portagers (10-8, 6-0 WMD) won the opener, 15-0, and took the second
game, 24-5.
Thomas Koon threw three no-hit innings in the first game with eight
strikeouts, and also went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs. |
Also for Onekama, Kevin O’Connor hit a home
run, Dan Gillespie had three hits and three RBIs, Joe Eno had two hits and drove in three runs.
In the second game, the Portagers scored 18
runs on 17 hits in the first inning. Bryce Reckow picked up his first
win on the mound while Joe Kosiboski struck out the side in one inning
of relief.
Koon had three hits and drove in three runs, Nick Osborn had a two-run
double, Kosiboski hit an inside-the-park home run, Reckow had three
hits, including a triple, while Gillespie, Nathan Fitch and Alex Block
each had two hits. |
