In the opener, Thomas Koon pitched all six
innings for the Portagers (8-6) and allowed four hits to go with five
strikeouts. He also had two hits and scored a run while Alex Block and
Stephen Verrett had two hits apiece. In the nightcap, Kosiboski finished
2-for-3 with five RBIs, Jared Miller went 3-for-4 and Kevin O’Connor was
2-for-3.
Dan Gillespie started on the mound for Onekama and got the win while
Kosiboski closed out the Bears in relief.
“I’m very pleased with the split,” Neph said. “The first game was a
pitchers’ duel. The second game, we broke it open early, got everyone in
and cruised.” |
