BOX TOP  CONTEST

LABEL WARS – January 11 – March 22, 2010

We will be starting a new contest for Box Tops which will work like penny wars.

Each grade will have a see-through container in the office to collect box tops in.

Each Box Top for Education label (see above) will be worth 10 points

Students will be able to sabotage other grades by placing Campbell soup\Tyson label or Spartan UPC codes in their competitor’s containers which will count against them.

Campbell soup will be worth the face value

Spartan UPC codes will be worth 1 point each

Tyson labels will be worth 1 point each

If you find Bonus labels, they will be worth face value (Sometimes on back of register receipts or larger boxes).

We will count on Monday morning and let teachers know if their class has been sabotaged.  Numbers will be posted on a poster in the hallway.

The final week, the boxes will be emptied and no more numbers will be posted, allowing the children to sabotage blindly (based on the numbers they already have and what they can see in the containers.)

WINNING GRADE WILL WIN AN ICE CREAM PARTY

 MANSITEE/BENZIE AREA CHILDRENS CHORUS

Welcome to the sixth season of the Manistee Benzie Area Children’s Chorus! New this year are two choruses: one for 8 year olds through 5th grade  and one for 6th through 12th grades.

Mission Statement

The Manistee Benzie Area Children’s chorus gives children a chance to develop skills and attitudes that will encourage the use of their singing voices as lifelong musical instruments.  Participation in the chorus will expose children to values and beliefs of other cultures and societies, as well as foster personal and social growth.

Funding

The MBACC has been formed through the Spirit of the Woods Music Association in the winter of 2005. Each season has been funded by contributions from the Arcadia Lions Club, patrons, and fundraising efforts of the chorus parents.

Eligibility &Tuition

The chorus is open to all singers ages 8 – 18 in Manistee and Benzie Counties. A fee of $35.00 - $50.00 will be due at the first rehearsal. This sliding scale is offered to accommodate those able and willing to pay more. Financial aide is available. Inquiries may be directed to Kristine Harvey, chorus manager.

Attendance & Volunteers

Parents and children need to acknowledge and accept the policies and procedures as stated by the MBACC as written in the handbook. Handbooks will be distributed at the First Rehearsal/Sign Up Night on February 8. The MBACC program depends on volunteers.  Parents can assist in a variety of ways.  More information will be available at the First Rehearsal/Sign Up Night.
