The Manistee High School wrestling team dropped both matches of a
Mid-Michigan Wrestling Conference tri meet on Wednesday night at Pine
River. The co-op Chippewas lost to Kingsley, 74-4, and fell to
Pine River, 69-12. We came in and did the best we could against the two top teams in the league,” said Manistee coach Chris Codden. “These are excellent teams. It was good competition and that’s all it was.” Codden said he was particularly pleased with the effort he got out of Tyler Kniss, Jesse Kelly and Raul Torres, all of whom won matches. Kniss (152) and Torres (heavyweight) both went 1-0, while Kelly (145) finished 1-1. Also for Manistee, Tyler Fogarty (145) went 1-1. Kara Gunia (119), Luke Fogarty (152), Jon Hogiev (152) and Brandon Jablonski (heavyweight) all finished 0-1, while Alex Meyers (103), Brian Fisk (112), Nick Carter (125), Tucker Bruce (130), Ariel Tomaszewski (135), Dakota Girard (140), Dan Wehrmeister (160), Travis Bulerski (171), Tyler Knudsen (189) and Cody Polcik (215) all finished 0-2. |
