The Onekama Varsity Volleyball team played the
MCC Sabre's Monday Sept. 8th.

We started out the first game slow and couldn't pull it off and lost 18-25.  In the second game we had a lot of trouble with the Sabre serves, just couldn't return them and lost 12-25.  We played better as a team getting the ball up to the setter this game and won 25-27.  In the fourth and final game we played really tough and was a really close game but fell to the Sabre's 25-27.  Chelsea Miller led the team with 10 points, 2 ace serves, 24 digs, she also led the team with 16 spikes and 10 assist.  Stacey Keith helped with 9 points, 1 ace serve and was the top passer with 44, 6 spikes with 2 kills, 23 sets and 3 tips.  Sherece Revolt also added 9 points with 4 aces, 37 digs, 5 spikes, was the team top setter with 30 and 8 tips.

Paige Rutowski help with 6 points, 18 passes, 3 spikes and 1 assists.  Ashley Hobart served up 5 points with 5 aces, 15 digs, 15 spikes with 7 kills and 4 tips.  Katie Prielipp added 3 points, with 17 digs and 11 assists.  Olivia Bolthouse served up a point with 12 passes, 6 spikes and 3 assists.  Tabitha Bellinger served up a point with 100% serving with one ace, 6 digs and spikes, with 4 assists.  Andria Reckow added 1 point, with 3 digs and spikes and 3 assists.  Erin Brown served up 1 point with 4 digs and 1 spike.  Tonight the team really struggled with their serve receive and had a lot of mistakes.  Everything that could go wrong, did.  They are a hard serving team and that we were just going to have to work together as a team and we just couldn't get our setter the ball.  This was a non-conference game and I told the girls that this was practice for the next time we meet them on the court.
