Top Wildcats

Manistee News Advocate  Staff Report
The Portagers were able to hold on and fend off Walkerville Tuesday night for a 45-36 victory.

“Walkerville played pretty good,” said Onekama coach Nathan Bradford. “We started off slow. It was a little ugly down the stretch, but we eventually came up with a win.”

Scoring for the Portagers (7-3, 7-3) were Taylor Hagen with 14 points, Chelsea Miller had 11, Sherece Revolt scored seven, and Stacey Keith added six.

Miller led Onekama in rebounds with 12.

Although Onekama had the lead at the end of every quarter, Walkerville (1-9, 1-7) was able to stay within single digits behind the Portagers. Onekama was up 20-17 at halftime, and the Portagers were able to slightly build their lead through the second half and hold on for the victory.
