Onekama vs. Walkerville
 Game 10

Lady Portager basketball welcomed the Walkerville Wildcats for a second meeting of the season.  The Portagers brought home a victory in their first meeting, but the Wildcats came in and played tough showing that they wanted to go home with the win in this contest.  The game stayed close with scores less than 4 points apart at the end of each quarter.  In the end the Portagers would hold off the Wildcats for an eighth victory with a score of 39-36.

Free throws, hard work from post players and good defense were the main factors in this contest.  The girls played hard and never let down. 

Lindsay led all scorers with 12 points.  Danielle and Emily were next in scoring with Danielle finishing with 9 and Emily 7.  Other scorers were Lexi and Jaylee with 3 each, Ashley and Nicki each added 2 points, and Brooke finished with 1.

 Danielle was a key defensive player pulling down 7 rebounds and getting 3 steals.  Lexi and Nicki each pulled down 4 boards and had 3 steals.  Emily and Lindsay led the team in steals with 5 each.

The JV Lady Portagers host Bear Lake for their second meeting on Friday, January 30, 2009.  The Portagers look to improve their record to 9 wins.  Go Portagers!
