Onekama Tops  Brethren

Onekama rebounded from Friday’s lopsided loss to Big Rapids’ Crossroads Charter Academy with a 62-37 win over Brethren on Monday night.

Sherece Revolt led the Portagers (6-2, 6-2) with 18 points, Stacey Keith had 12 points and six rebounds and Chelsea Miller chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.

“We bounced back pretty good from Friday’s loss,” said Onekama coach Nathan Bradford. “It took us a little while to get going, but the girls were running on all cylinders.

Becca Priest led the Bobcats (3-5, 3-6) with 13 points and 14 rebounds, Kelsey Hickok and Elana Hickok scored 10 apiece and Courtney Matuszak had 10 rebounds.

Brethren was playing without injured starters Gabby Regula and Tasha Maiville, and only had six players in uniform.

“We just ran out of gas,” said Brethren coach Warren Ostrander.
