Onekama vs. Frankfort
 Game 15

Portager basketball welcomed the Frankfort Panthers in a non-conference game for the fifteenth game of the season.  Frankfort proved to be a formidable opponent as expected.  The Portagers looked to improve on this game by looking for more offensive opportunities.  The Portagers were also battling sickness with 2 players unable to play.

Overall the Portagers did play a much better game offensively, but the Panthers went home with the victory in this match-up.  The final score was Onekama 37 and Frankfort 48.

The Portagers were led offensively by Jaylee with 11 points and Lindsay with 10 points.  Other scorers were Emily with 8 points, Danielle with 7 points, and Nicki with 1 point.

Danielle led the team’s defensive charge with 12 rebounds and 4 steals.  Emily led the team in steals with 4.  Jaylee grabbed 4 rebounds and had 2 steals.  Nicki and Lindsay each contributed with 3 boards and a combined 5 steals.  Brooke finished things off with 1 rebound and 2 steals.

Portager basketball will resume on Thursday, February 19, 2009, in the second conference meeting with the Cougars of Big Rapids.  The Portagers look to break out of their current slump and bring home the tenth win of the season.  Good luck Lady Portagers! ~Coach Torrey
